Bobby,

I would, gladly, shoot in the early A.M. if the sky was there. Here in San
Antonio we suffer from heavy coastal over runing. We are 150 miles from the
Gulf coast, but the terrain is so flat between us and the Gulf of Mexico
that the Gulf heavily dominates our weather. Between midnight and 1 AM, we
get heavy clouds from the coast unless there is a very strong northerly wind
to keep them away. It is VERY rare that we great a clear dawn around here.
When we do, it is usually in the winter when a good cold front has pushed
through. We seem to be right on the bubble. When something does push
through, unless it is strong, I have actually seen on many occasions that
the cold front will stall right above us and actually reverse. The clouds
will push down to the southern horizon, then COME BACK! Basically, this
area is lousy for astronomy.
