[APML] Please help with red splotch problem

Title: Message
Would someone offer any ideas on what my problem might be , because I don't know.

Every "astrophoto" I've attempted to take with my Nikon FM10 has had a peculiar red area in each exposure.
The size, shape, and area of the exposure this affects doesn't really change.

This red area appears using the cameras lens and mounted to the scope at prime focus.
No matter what part of the sky I'm imaging its there.
My sky is not all that dark.  Visual magnitude limit is about 5.4-5.5 when this photo was taken.
Normal daylight photos on the same roll of film do not seem to have a problem.
I'm using Kodak Royal Gold 400 (problem has occurred on two different rolls of film)

I set the black/whiet point so you can see what I'm talking about.  This is a 5 minute exposure.
