Re: [APML] Another processing challenge!

I didn't want to reply to each effort that has been posted to confirm my gratitude. Let me do it now and say I am very glad I could get some perspective on this image and how to fix them. I am still learning but it is so good to know I can get this done with PS too. Many thanks to all involved for the help, advice and kind comments. In particular Bert for his detailed list of steps.

I have a few more and will post another soon.

BTW - my comment about powerful and their connection speed was totally tongue in cheek. I would trade my DSL connection for mag 6.5 skies any day! I have a three hour drive to get what a select few can have any night.

I like this image and made minimal changes. The result and a description of the processing can be found at:
Thanks, Monte!

Subject: [APML] Another processing challenge!

After a few frustrating months I have a processing challenge. It was taken with a TAK FSQ-106 and 6x7 Pentax. E200 60mins push 1 stop. It is of I.4628 in Scorpius RA 16H 46' -41. There are a few more I will post in the next days.

There are two versions a quick 500kb jpeg for bandwidth challenged people

and more powerful men will feel right at home with a 9Mb TIF

Any thoughts on the image would be appreciated. I have made no changes to the file it is a raw as they come.

Regards
