I wanted to get as much of the fainter nebulosity to the north and south as
I could, but at 660mm I couldn't quite fit all of it in. OTOH, with my 300mm
lens there isn't as much resolution, and the 400mm lens I have isn't up to
the task in terms of optical quality. The ideal focal length for the Veil is
around 500mm.
