To process TP in normal lighting you might want to
use a water bath technique... you will need a darkroom... process the film with
constant agitation for 30 seconds to start, then plunk the film in distilled
water and let it sit for 60 seconds... then back to the developer for normal
agitation for 30 seconds, then back to the water etc etc etc... what happens is
where the film is greatly exposed there is a lot of activity but in the water
bath all the developer is used up immediately in the emulsion... where there is
less exposure the activity is slower... this lets the "turtle" catch up. You
will see amazing gains in the shadows and low midtones and a reduction in the
highlight density. How long to develop? You'll have to experiment... this works
very well with D76. A lot of work but it can generate negatives that are even
better than using a compensating developer.
