RE: [APML] Vignette Correction Software - Found!



Just for the information of readers of this thread. PWPro anti-vignetting corrects only for a certain type of falloff that happens in wide angle camera lenses. It is not intended to fix falloff from a hard stop in a telescope optical path, which is what is faced 90% of the time by readers of this list. Furthermore, the advanced AV techniques espoused by Sean Walker and myself can correct for a wide variety of problems including OAG prism shadow, skyglow gradients, etc.

I don't doubt that the PWPro falloff filter isn't helpful. However it is not (and never can be) as effective as more complex methods that utilize the skills of an experienced person.
