[APML]: Soft-Tec Goto

Many thanks to all who replied. Please accept this "shotgun" response.
For those interested here is a short summary of the Soft-Tec do's and don'ts.

Soft-Tec is a closed system requiring it's own computer to function.

The software is DOS and it will not co-habitat with Windows. According to
Ron McDaniel there is "no way" to avoid using two computers if you plan to
use a CCD. It therefore cannot interface with "The Sky".

It requires 110 volt ac. The G-11 head will not fit in the case with the
motors attached, but they can be removed in about 90 seconds(according to
Ron) Two screws for each motor. The motors employ belts made from Kevlar, so
stretching should be minimal or nonexistant.

The communication from the computer to the mount is via parralel port, so
almost any resonable distance is achievable.

The system is compatible with the guiding features of both the ST7/8 or the
ST4 IF you use the SBIG relay box.
