Re: [APML]: Solar Images Show Ghosts? Help!
In a message dated 1/23/98 2:18:01AM, you write:
<< Hi Everyone,
I've been practicing my sequence and routine for the Feb. 26th Solar
Eclipse and just got back a roll of Kodachrome 64 slides tonight and have a
problem with "ghosting" in the longer exposures.
First, let me introduce my setup and give a more thorough description of
the problem.
Here's my setup:
* 70mm f/6.4 (480mm f.l.) TeleVue Pronto scope working at f/7.4
* TeleVue Field Flattener optic (changes scope to 520mm at f/7.4)
* Bogen Tripod and head, i.e. no tracking
* Thousand Oaks Optical ND5 solar filter
* Nikormat camera and Nikon T-Ring
* Kodachrome 64 slide film >>
Try tilting the solar filter rather than putting it on parallel to the
objective lens. This sometimes helps eliminate reflections.
