[APML]: HP vs. Kodak Scanner Test

I have to decide whether to return my HP scanner within the money-back 
period of CompUSA, and so could not wait for the full Scanner Olympics you 
all are planning.

So, I did a sort of mini-race between the HP Photosmart and the Kodak 2035 
that my local camera store uses. (I understand from several APML comments 
that this Kodak machine is pretty top of the line, right?).

I took one color negative of M20+M8 and had it scanned on the Kodak and 
then scanned it at home on the HP. Then I processed in Photoshop to get as 
closely comparable images as I could (not perfect). The results are under 
the title "Scanner Comparison" on my website

Please take a look (at the full images, not just the thumbnails) and let me 
know your opinions. The webpage includes my own observations and 
interpretation, but I am a newcomer to digital photography. I hope you pros 
can enlighten us as to the differences you see and the reasons for them.
