I keep all slides in plastic mounts, and store them in a metal slide file
box with a small packet of silica gel.
I scan all of my best slides and put them on a write-once CD-ROM. A HP
Photosmart scanner and and CD writer can cost as little as $700 together.
Blank CD media is about $2.50 each now. I figure it takes about 7-10
Photo CDs to pay itself back.
