   Why?  Unless you cannot physically swing your camera through the forks, (I 
could on our old SCT, but things may have changed in 15 years) there is not 
any reason why you cannot photograph any region of the sky.
   Of course, sometimes the base gets in the way from central latitudes, but 
51 degrees is a pretty long way from tropical!  :-)
