[APML]: Using HP Photosmart Scanner

The Sprintscan software is very good, but it doesn't have a histogram
display either. I overcome this by opening up low res scans in Photoshop
and inspecting the colour balance and contrast by means of the Photoshop
histograms. Once these settings are right I do the final scan at full res.

Thanks for the tip and the references, Phil. I tried your advice with my HP
Photosmart. With this scanner, however, I have to exit the scan s/w to work
in Photoshop and then when I return to the scan s/w it has reset the
exposure setting to default (or auto?). Does anyone know how to save these
settings so that you can return to the same neg without reinventing the
wheel each time?
