At this time, I have both GM8 and G11 at my place. If the basement of
the two mounts is the same, I can see that the G11 haves a greater
stability, besides the greater tracking accuracy. The great
disadvantage of the GM8 mount is actually the little and dumb field
tripod, nothing to do with the rocky G11's tripod!

If you plan to purchase a mount for a 8" SCT-like telescope, I think
that the GM8 is a very good choice. But if you plan to change your 8"
SCT, sooner or later, consider to buy a G11 now, you won't change it
for nothing, NEVER! :-)
