Re: [APML]: Why Om-1

I was curious to know more about the nature of the vibrations caused my the
mirror movement. Searching the web some time ago, I found that someone had
measured the vibration of a camera, with and without mirror lockup. (Can't
find the URL right now).

>From memory, two observations from the measurements were:

1. Mirror lockup gives a shorter-duration disturbance.

2. The vibration (with/without lockup) should only be a problem over a
particular range of shutter speeds, where the shutter is open just long enough
to capture the entire vibration sequence. Fast shutter speeds 'freeze' the
movement. For very slow shutter speeds, (big part of a second and upwards)
the vibration duration is such a tiny fraction of the exposure time that it
can be ignored.

I'll have a search for the article.
