Re: [APML]: Why Om-1
Hello all
If I may change the subject slightly.I was wondering if anyone has ever
done any astro-photagraphy with the old Exacta Varex 1000;I was thinking
about the one I used to own years before I got bitten by the astronomy
bug.Remembering it I imagine it may have been ideal for the job,it had
interchangable everything, and the feature that I thought that would be
most useful was it's ability to wind the film from one can to another
and the built in knife so you could cut the film and develop a small
portion. If I recall correctly it was designed to be used with
microscopes,so whether it was any good for astro-photography I am very
interested in finding out.I still see a few floating around here in the
UK but doubt very much if adapters can be got to mount them to a
telescope any more,at least here I don't know about in the USA or
anywhere else. But to get back onto the subject I am at the moment
looking around for an OM-1. I have seen a few references to the
"Astrofocuser":is that an Olympus product or something made by an
independent industry? in which case back to the Ronchi grating because I
don't suppose it will available here in Britain, but I will stand
correcting on that :-)
Bye for now, clear skies, from overcast (still) Devon, southwest UK
Ian.
