The 35 F4.5 was this a newer lens with the rubber focusing ring and built
in filters?
I had the problem your speaking of with a Nikkor 20mm F3.5 UD lens a real
dog.

The Zeiss Lens I mentioned is a CF 30 this will give you a 180/112 FOV
might be worth renting.
Peter I wonder if you could rent a Hasselblad 903SWC it comes with a
Zeiss 38mm F4.5 this would give you 90 degree FOV.
