Well, it’s finally up and running. I’ll be getting a backup of the subscription list so
that I can do a mass email if something like This ever happens again. Here’s what I understand happened: SEDS went to reboot the server one day and it would not boot
up. The drives appeared to be good and all of
the data and software appeared present, but it would not boot. The hardware and software
people kept pointing fingers at one another. They kept trying fixes as they didn’t want to
wipe everything and reload from a backup as it looked like the solution should be something simple. To compound the problem their best
expert was out of state and parts that were
suspect had to be ordered in overnight each time. They finally just went ahead and reformatted the drive then
loaded in the most recent backup. The system booted up just fine. I don’t think that anyone ever
figured out for sure what the problem was, but it
is working just fine now. Gene Horr |
