Thanks Stuart! No, I used the Screen/Mask/Invert process outlined in
Jerry's book after using Background Subtraction Toolkit to even out the
background. Unfortunately my processing turned it uneven. Chris took
it and put it through PixInsight and there was a huge improvement in the
background so this weekend I'm going to start over again and see if I can do
better on it.

Gary, it is excellent! 9.5 minutes with 400 speed film
pushed once sounds about right. Histograms look good. Nice colour balance
getting the California Nebula and the blue nebulosity around the Pleiades.
There seems to be a dark area dead centre of the image - did you apply an
anti-vignette mask?

Here's my small film contribution. Nothing of the caliber of
other images from the list but I'll try to get more out of it this
weekend. I think there's some tail on the slide, I just haven't
figured out how to show it in the image.
