RE: [APML] Processing Question

Gary, the image first needs a bit of a gamma boost to bring up the rather dark background.  Then visit Pleiadesastrophoto.com and try SGBNR.  As a hint, only cut the grain in HALF.  NEVER exceed this or the photo will start looking fake.

Subject: [APML] Processing Question

Hello,
Since the skies have been dismal I've been working on my processing.  This is an image of M42 from last spring.  While it's the best version I've been able to do, I know it still needs a lot of work.  My question is on smoothing.  I was able to bring much more out but it needs to be smoothed out.  What would be the best way to do this without sacrificing detail?

Thanks
Gary
