RE: [APML] Machholz on film
Thanks to everyone who replied! There were some problems with this
one, for starters the Schmidt decided to pop out of collimation but hey, at
least I got something of this pair! I hope that we see a few other film
images posted over the next few days. Next week it passes the California
nebula...
Bill, I processed for 4 minutes in D-19. It brought out nice detail
in M45 and the tail but at the expense of burning out detail in the head of
the comet. I feel your pain Jim, tech pan was such a perfect film for the
Schmidt. I have about 3 years worth of film/chemistry but after that...?
Laptops, cables and CCD's are very difficult to work with at -10C and below,
especially in the field. I have 3 more winters of tech pan but haven't
figured out how I am going to do winter AP after that. Especially if Kodak
decides to "improve" or remove E200 during that time...

PS - Good luck with the Ark Jim! Don't forget to load male/female pairs of
all known types of good AP film!
