I just got back from a week the Big Island. The airport is nice and you will have no trouble moving around the island. If you intend to go up on the Mountains, be sure to rent a 4wheel drive and insure it. You are responsible!! Maui is the same Kahulli Airport is well traveled and keyed to the traveler with lots of equipment. Have fun and if you need further encouragement blow the whistle.
