[APML] Digital signing of pictures

Dear All,

i think that a while ago someone started a discussion on how to digitally sign a
picture file, but I lost the thread. 
Can anyone tell me if there is a free software that allows me digitally sign a
picture? It doesn't need to be a strong encryption, just a "first line" firewall.
