This is a big question and makes it hard to want to invest much in film
astro-imaging these days. According to Kodak they have no plans as of now to
discontinue E200 or tec pan but they wouldn't tell you if they were going to
until it happened.

PS maybe if SBIG gets those prices of those big chips way down where the
digital cameras are the film issue would not matter anyway. But as long as
film is still availiable many will not buy those several thousand dollar
large chips.
