Many on the list use Registar to re-register the RGB channels of color (or tri-color images).  Picture Window also has a chromatic aberration tool for adjusting lens aberration around the edges.  I've also used Photoshop to manually adjust RGB channels.

To adjust for instrument/recording medium adjustment (ex. achromatic aberration, instrument/film blooming/halation), you can use techniques like Matt BenDaniel's star shaping technique on individual channels to various degrees.  His article on the technique can be found here:
