[APML] M8-M20 NEW

Hello,

Guess what ... a FILM image! With the new scanner and the great software
that came with it I created a four negative mosaic of the M8-M20 area from
some old negatives collecting dust ...

The images were aligned with Registar ... I doubt this could have been
done without it.

The negatives were taken with the AP 7" f/7 from Mount Pinos some years
ago on hypered PPF 400 (ah the good old days...).

There are two files available ... the one is on the website, the other,
for those of you with fast internet, is in a "secret" part of my web site
... it is a 3 MB jpeg that starts to show the true resolution of this file.

The PSD file size is 400 MB, the flattened Tiff is around 120 MB ...
the web site image barely shows anything, the larger jpeg shows about 1/3
... Note the histogram made possible with the new scanner software ... 'nuff
said ...

    http://www.astrophoto.com/M8-M20NEWL.jpg (for the 3 MB jpeg ...
this will be up for only 24 hours)

           Have a good one,

                Tony
