Re: [APML] Photoshop CS censorship
There's quite a bit of coverage about this issue in today's papers, and Adobe did this voluntarily at the urging of Treasury officials to prevent counterfeiting...nobody held a gun to their head. And it does affect performance in the latest CS edition; an Adobe spokesman was quoted as saying they were seeking solutions to improve performance.
Anti-counterfeiting measures have been enforced since the Grant administration, so I'm not sure why the current administration should be singled out now. And for those who are inclined to believe the paranoid statement below, you might check the actual language of the Homeland Security Act at the following link, which Act by the way was passed by both houses of Congress, which the last I checked was not part of our "security-crazed administration." You'll find actions taken under the Act against individuals still require a judge's approval. And as someone who lost two friends in the World Trade Center attacks, I'm just fine with that arrangement. Cheers. http://www.dhs.gov/interweb/assetlibrary/hr_5005_enr.pdf
Chris:
Adobe didn't come up with the idea. It was our security-crazed
administration. And it involves a lot more than scanning 20 dollar bills. US
citizens can now be declared devoid of ALL civil rights by action of the
executive branch. No calls to a lawyer or family, no legal charges, just
prison. If you want to take action, take it in the next election, not
against Adobe.
