[APML] OT: M33
Dear list members,
this is a image that has kept me busy during the last few month.
Initially I had planed to do a pure film composite of M33. So I shot
several images on Provia 400 F and Kodak E200. After processing these
images I was a bit disappointed from what I have got. So I decided to do
a additional luminance image with the CCD. Due to the fact that M33 is
large and the chip of my CCD is small it was clear it has to be a mosaic
(I wanted some field around the galaxy). I shot a mosaic of 8 frames
with my MX916 and the Vixen R200SS. Unfortunately I have not got very
good conditions since the moment I planed the mosaic. I had to deal with
poor transparency and very humid air.
Anyway, here is what I got:

Luminance is unfiltered CCD.
Color is from the film shots. So it is not completely OT I guess ;-)
6 shots on E200 and Provia 400F were stacked for the color information.
The result was transfered to LAB mode and the luminance layer replaced
by the CCD mosaic (after registering).
This is my first attempt of a mosaic so I had severe problems to get rid
of the seams of the single frames. I can't see them anymore on my CRT
but they are still visible on my TFT.
Ok, any comments are highly appreciated.
Best regards
Andreas
