Are you referring to the technique in your article "Color CCD Imaging 
with Luminance Layering" ? I'll give that a try.

Still working on my processing skills so that's probably down the road 
(when it's cloudy for weeks on end).

Actually Bert, I used bgsmooth with parameters '1 70' - command line 
version works fine 8-). To bad Axel wrote it for 8bit Tiff files.

I'll give SGBNR a try here soon. Thanks.
