[APML] Astrophotography Book - H.J.P.Arnold
Just got the newest edition of this book (title: Astrophotography - An
introduction to film and digital imaging; Firefly books; $20 CAD or about
$15 USD). It is a compact paperback (5x7") and I must say it is nothing less
than excellent! Contributors of photographs are Rob Gendler, Bill and Sally
Fletcher, David Malin, Damian Peach (UK), Akira Fujii, and a few others.
Most of the book is about film imaging with about 20 pages pointing out the
direction the craft is taking into the digital realm. It finishes with
travel tips.
An example of what I like is that I want to try for the Analemma and the
book not only discusses it but has a section on procedure where he discusses
his choice of camera body, lens, location, film and filter. Not paint by
numbers but a lot more than I've seen elsewhere.
Some time back we had a thread on this topic and I just have to say that
better value for the money would be hard to find.
