Re: [APML] Aurora

Hi Brian , remember me ? ;o)

That make a while that I look at the APML messages but now that you talk about my favorite subject , I will not stay hidden anymore !

I know there's some peoples who know me here , but for those who dont know me , I'm from Quebec city , Canada ( 47°N-71°W ) and I'm an aurora chaser. I took northern lights on film since few years. Like Brian , I watch the solar activity more often than my e-mails ;o) btw: there's a partial halo CME comming on our way and we can have some aurora tommorow or the day after. for more info http://www.spacew.com/cme/index.html

I took some pictures last night at 80km north of Quebec city. You can see these pictures and all the other that I took on this site http://www.spacew.com/gallery/image000883.html

p.s: excuse my english , I usualy talk french.

The past couple of days we have been experiancing a strong coronal hole based impact and it has been cloudy here with the acception of tonight.
Now it seems the Kp index charts are down and not working...the last value was kp 5 and Im too far in the city to know if anything is going on at my 43 non geomagnetic deg. latitude.
I also cant find any current information as to where the Bz is heading.

So here it is...anybody seeing aurora???:)

Thanks,
Brian

Sun dogs fire on the horizon
Meteor rain stars across the night
This moment may be brief
But it can be so bright
Reflected in another source of light
When the moment dies
The spark still flies
Reflected in another pair of eyes
