Re: [APML] 16-bit Slide Scanning Question

Tony,

The "raw" (called 16bit linear) file save mode is fine and does not seem to clip at all. You just have no way of "seeing" the output before you save... The GEM and ICE both seem to work in the "linear" mode and the orange mask is removed also removed (on color negatives), there is just no gamma and negatives are saved as negatives (and positives as positives).

Frank,

Amazingly I found the instruction manual for the Multi Pro on the Minolta web site and I'll take a look at it today to see if there is anything I can figure out from it... I would hate to buy this scanner only to find out that it clips the ends... somehow these people must allow you to set your end points before pushing the "scan" button. It seems to be a step up from the Polaroid SS120 but not if it won't allow you to set the endpoints or at least allow a "raw" scan mode.

Thank you for the reply... I'll let you know if I can glean anything from the manual for this scanner.
