Thanks. Since CCDs are linear devices, I gather
the linear scan option can then be considered 
"raw". Which is what I want in any case. I would
rather manipulate the data myself than let
software do it automatically. 

BTW, any advice on using the DiMAGE's multi-scan
(multi-pass?) option? Should I use it and if so
how many passes?
