When I register images in PW, and Apply the composite Register routine
to the registering image, with the intent of stacking later, or under
PS, the registered image automatically places a black area in the
(non-overlapped) area. This is not a problem when stacking images that
are not that far off. But that black area casues a major problem when
dealing with images that area to be combined in a mosaic, or images
wheere several images were framed badly. The black area causes a level
problem in that area when stacking and screws up the final result.

This problem does not occur when you Apply the Blend operation right
then and there during the registering, instead of Applying Register. In
that case, the non-overlapped area in the registering image is treated
as a transparent area not a black area. the images blend in very nicely,
if you did a good leveling you almost can't tell where the line is
between the overlaps.

Is there a way to change this setting? Any suggestions on how others get
around this?

Thanks for any reponses and help
