Re: [APML] Petition

Hello Robert and others:
I too was not aware of the death of Jack Marling of Lumicon. Maybe
someone who knew him better like Chuck Vaughn could clear this up. I am not
sure who first introduced gas film hypersensitization (perhaps Scott and
Smith, 1976, Salmon, 1976, Hoessel, 1978 or Everhart,1980). However it was
Jack Marling and not David Malin who introduced the gas hypersensitization
of 35 mm Tech Pan film to the world. I searched the ADS and Marling's
article in 1980 was one of the first for 35 mm Kodak Technical Pan gas
hypersensitization. The article is --

"Gas Hypersensitization of Kodak Technical Pan Film 2415"
from
American Astronomical Society Bulletin, Issue No. 24, 1980
