Wasn't hypering for AP developed by David Malin anyway?
WOAH!!! Whats this LATE Jack Marling thing? Something has escaped me. Is
he dead? I know I haven't seen him at star parties for a while, but I never
heard he was deceased. When? What happened? He's (was?) younger than me.
This is shocking news at my end.
And on the thread of the message, gas hypering was perfected by a number of
people more or less at the same time with the late (I KNOW he is dead) Ben
Mayer and the very undead Wallis and Provine introducing it to mainstream
amateur astrophotography. Marling actually applied for a patent for the
process as related to Tech Pan. Thats why you don't see other commercial
sources of hypered film in the US besides Lumicon.
