RE: [APML] Petition

Title: Message
Warren,

This is a very good start.  I'd like to see it come to the point more directly, though, by asking them to continue producing and supporting specific films. Since we're "petitioning" them, we need to tell them what we want them to DO in addtion to voicing our concerns, support for their products, etc.  It won't tick them off to tell them what we want them to do, and if done politely may be more effective than their usual market research, which is probably done by marketing types (two drink minimum, etc.) who may know less about film and photography than the most green members of this list.

I'm not sure how the special order request will go, but like Bobby, I'll go in for a couple hundred, though I'd rather ask for a new emulsion.  As Philip Perkins has pointed out, many films have one or more characteristics of a good astro film, and it seems obvious that a nearly "perfect" emulsion could be made if they wanted to.  We know they can do it, and we'd buy it if they made it - that's what I'd like to tell 'em.

Sincerely,
Jon Kolb

Dear Guys and Daphne (anyone else??),
I hope the MS Word attachment is OK. Here is my first draft. My 3-minute commercial songwriter instincts says it's too long but rather elegant. Have at it and I'll work from there.

Thanks! Warren
