Well, with great respect for the opinions of other list members,
I just want to say that I have been part of the "silent majority" for several years now
and do not feel "elbowed out" at all.
Everybody has the same fair chance to take part in this discussion, so in my eyes any
refering to a "silent majority" is not needed nor is it useful, since it is always uncertain,
what this majority thinks and feels.... who could know this without asking this
majority???
Although I followed the list in 1999 on the base of it's mission statement
of that time, I nevertheless now can see the need for a change, can't I?
I my eyes the proposal by Chuck Vaughn means a slight
change in _depth_ of focus, for me something very different from
_loss_ of focus....
So I vote for Chuck's idea.... the depth of focus of this list _has_ changed
since 1999 indeed, so it's only an adjustment to acknowledge this fact and
to put mission statement and list- reality in congruence.
