I know you guys don't know me from Adam because I'm just a lurker, but I've
got a tad bit over $5.5k invested in equipment/software just getting ready
to snap my first picture!  That's for a 10" LX200, wedge, focal reducer,
2-Minolta 102 bodies and a couple of lenses, a ETX90 guidescope with
Losmandy dovetail and 125mm ring set, Losmandy counterweight, 216XT
autoguider and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff.  That total does not include
the cost of the concrete pier or any observatory construction costs.  Like I
said, all that and I haven't snapped my first film shot yet - but will in
the coming weeks.  It's taken me almost 2 years to accumulate the hardware.

PS:  You folks certainly set the bar real high!  I hope to be able to do
half as nice a job some day.
