Whether one changes the "rules" or not will not change any evolution in
imaging. Whether you have someone to mentor you or not will not be because
of a change in mission statement - it will be because the world has changed
and peoples' tastes have changed. People will stay with film or move on to
CCDs (or do both) regardless of what the mission statement of this list is.
All Chuck is trying to do is to update the reality of this list. The best
way to keep film alive is to be inclusive. I use both film and CCDs and
enjoy the challenges of both.
If someone leaves the world of film and goes to CCD imaging, he still won't
be mentoring you unless you employ inclusion to keep him around.
