You should disable Norton's "Auto Protect" feature when installing software - that should clear it up for you.

Has anyone tried to load Polaroid's PolaColor Insight Pro software (to get a SS 4000 up and running) while running Norton's anti virus software?

 

I am getting some strange halts by Norton's during auto install of the Polaroid software.
