[APML] Color profiles
Color profiles, also called ICC profiles, are used to provide consistent
color representations among different computers. They can be embedded
in JPEG images, and are automatically put in by Photoshop when you Save
For Web. When posting images to your web sites, do most people embed
profiles? Have you profiled your monitor?
I use a Mac, where software to handle profiles (Colorsync) is built into
the operating system, so browsers and all other graphically-oriented
programs use them. Is that true in the Windows world also?
Sometimes I notice that a rather bad looking image is loading, then at
the end it snaps into the correct colors and I know the profile was
embedded.
