[APML] New noise reduction software

Hello group,

I have been working in a new noise reduction program since past november
and now I have just finished a first beta version. Considering the thread
about this topic that has originated recently in this list, I think some of
you might be interested in testing my program and maybe find it a useful tool.

I call this new application SGBNR, which stands for Selective Gaussian Blur
Noise Reduction. We have been using a simple version of this technique for
a long time, implemented as a manual process in Adobe Photoshop, with quite
good results. The idea of writing this program raised while I was working
on a C++ class library for image processing in AP. I thought that a good
first program to test the library would be an interactive noise reduction
application. The current version is only a first temptative version of this
program. It can be greatly improved.

SGBNR is a 32-bit application running under Microsoft Windows
9x/NT4/2000/XP on PC machines with Pentium Pro and higher processors. I
have developed it entirely in the C++ and assembler languages. You can
download it from the Software Development section of our website:

Further details in our website and in the program's documentation. Comments
and bug reports will be really welcome.
Clear skies.
