A long and intense thread, this one. I wonder if, in 50
to 100 years, the CCD'ers will have a discussion of equal intensity about the
new wonder toys replacing their favored medium: The Super, Phase-Entangled
Neutrino Detecting Imager (SPENDI)chip attached to the Holographic Interface
Cosmic-Object-Scanning Technology (HICOST) Telescope (from Meade?) all on top of
the Omnidirectional Magnetic Instrument (OMI) mount, processing their shots with
a biochip implant featuring the Decium 7 processor ? :)
BTW, the only CCDs I own are in my ST-4 and SS-4000
scanner.
I will continue to use film (if it's an option) and will
explore the new tech, too.
Regardless of the imaging medium, there is much we can learn
from each other.
Hope TP stays around long enough so that I can make a mess of
B/W like I do with color!
