[APML] Tech Pan - the facts???
Back on topic for a second, even though this has been interesting reading.
Can anyone confirm the rumours about TP being discontinued?? The last hard
'facts' I heard from a Kodak rep were about 10 years ago, when CCD's started to
become a household word. Back then, due to the demand of the medical,
scientific, arts and astronomical communities Kodak had commited to producing TP
for another 50 years. (40 now...) Granted things change over time, does anyone
have any hard facts??
I am also relieved that I am not the only who can't cough up the cash to
pick up a 3K by 4K 6.8um pixel CCD - the MINIMUM I would consider to do the job
of a single 17 cent frame of tech-pan. In another 10 years, who knows. For now,
my Schmidt cameras have a voracious apetite for tech pan and Wratten 92 filters,
and it will probably take another 10 years to shoot every target I want, anyway.
I hope that Kodak won't force me to end this prematurely.
