[APML] CookBook TC245 or Pictor 216

Hello Group,

I am starting to gain an interest in CCD Astrophotography and am
wondering if anyone has any feel about the Barry "CookBook 245" Imager
versus the Meade 216XT imager?

I have been studying the CookBook circuitry and have read the
Meade literature on their 216XT and have a gut feeling that the 245 would
result in better images than the 216XT. I realize the Texas Instrument
TC245 CCD Imaging chip is now marked as obsolete by TI but I suspect it
won't be long before they also obsolete the TC255 which is used in the
216XT.

If you folks have any comment I certainly would appreciate
hearing from you.
