A low-profile focuser is an option but to get one worthy of astrophotography
it won't be cheap. 1.5 is as low as the common 2" newt focusers go. How low
is your now?
Moving the primary forward is probably your most practicle solution. My 8"
homebuilt newt had 3 sets of primary cell holes <g>
