I once forgot to bring the guidescope.  Hardly insignificant, and far more
frustrating.  To cure this problem for good, I gave up on detailed
checklists and now keep absolutely everything I'll need in a group of cases.
When it's time to go out, all the cases get packed, even if I know I won't
be using some of the stuff in them.  I also put everything in the truck the
same way each time, thereby providing a visual clue if something's not where
it should be. I still have a checklist, but it's for major items only like
"deep cycle battery" or "mount head case."
