Re: [APML] What lies beneath M78



Philip,

   You've got a good eye.  Actually the Ha was only used
as a 40% luminance to help preserve the weak blue areas.
In addition, I used approximately 30% of the blue channel
as another luminance layer to help balance the image.  My
visual magnitude in this direction is around a 4 mag so it
was extremely difficult to extract the broadband blue.  The
key was a combination of the IDAS LPF filter, large amounts
of stacking and much processing.
