RE: [APML] More lunar eclipse photos
Mary,
To reduce the size of a photo, make sure you use the "resample" operation.
A plain "resize" will often cause loss of detail. When resampling, use the
option to preserve aspect ratio and change only the width, and the height
will be set automatically to prevent distortions.
As I recall, PaintShop Pro has a resample menu command. I'm currently using
Corel Photopaint, but PSP should have everything you need.
Also, if you don't like the result of a resample (or any other image
processing operation), UNDO it and then try again with a different size. If
you repeatedly do resamples you'll end up losing some detail. That goes for
most image processing operations. (not that I'm an expert at this yet -
still learning)
Prime focus means that the telescope is used as a lens for the camera,
resulting in a smaller field of view (larger magnification) than using a
typical camera lens.

Alan,
Love your sense of humor, and very nice photos for a beginner. I'm also a
beginner and unable to figure out how to put the photos on my website. They
are too big and when I try to reduce the size to 800 x 600 they become
distorted. I'm using PaintShop Pro to edit the photos. Is there something
else I can use to edit them succussfully? Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
P.S. What does prime focus shots mean...told you I was a beginner...
Thanks,
Maj
