[APML] Film Disaster??

I shot a roll of film tonight, but when I reached the
end of the roll, the film wouldn't rewind.  When I
opened the camera back, the remaining end of the
film in the canister came out.  The only way I could
get the film out was to pull it out by hand;  then I
stored it one of those plastic film containers.  Is
there any hope of having this developed, or should I
just write it off?  (I checked and removed the film
in the darkest place I could find, an unlit storage
room off of an unlit garage).
